Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry is one of the oldest business and services organizations in the kingdom. It was established by a royal decree dated Safar 1365 H \ January 1946 G. since then with efforts of 20 sessions of the Board of Directors and experience extends more than 60 years, the chamber has been serving the national economy and business community, contributing to its development and progress.
The Jeddah Chamber has a strategic location that it is located next to the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Culture and Information, overlooking the Jeddah Islamic Port. This location gives it a significant economic dimension makes of it one of the significant landmarks of the Bride of the Red .
The chamber strives to take care of its members’ interests and provide distinguished services to them to contribute to the development of the western province economy. A number of administrative and organizational developments has been devised to enhance services being provided to the members. Among the most the chamber now has branches in province’s different governorates like Al Qunfidhah, Al Lith and Rabigh to provide service to business community there.
On 2011, the chamber launched the largest electronic project ever “ E- attestation” the first of its kind at the level of Saudi Chambers. E-attestation enables members to attest their official documents wherever they are, and they can get attestation round the clock (24\7) without visiting the chambers. It saves members’ time and efforts that It can be used from anywhere in the world. To meet the demand of business community and labor market, the chamber found specialized center that patronize specific activities in business, social responsibility, human resources and other fields. There are 8 centers, among of them are Business Development Center, Emerging and Small Enterprises Center, Human Resources Development Center, Jeddah Marketing Board, Social Responsibility Center, Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF) Center, AlSayda Khadijah Bint Khowailid Center and Law and Conciliation Center.
The chamber played a significant role in supporting the kingdom’s position economically. It found Jeddah Economic Forum that is held annually since 2000. It has become the one of the region’s (Middle East) most important economic event and the only competitor of The World Economic Forum (Davos). It brought together a group of local and international economists, expertise, ministers, presidents, intellectuals and business owners under one roof to share with more than twenty thousand attendees from one hundred countries their experience and opinions in different aspects of local and global economic issues. The forum invited well-known speakers and political figures such as the ex-President of the United States George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom John Major.

The Jeddah Chamber also played a diplomatic role the accession of Saudi Arabia to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
